Fork and Plough

Since 2018, Roddy Pick and Chef Shawn Kelly have been providing both neighbors and visitors alike the Upstate's freshest and most plentiful meats, produce, and products at Fork and Plough.

Located in the historic Overbrook neighborhood of Greenville, SC, Fork and Plough is a true farm-to-table partnership, with farm and table separated by just 14 miles.

Kingbird Pastures keeps Chef Shawn in supply of organic produce like carrots, broccoli, garlic, cabbage, turnips, beets, kale, lettuce, tomatoes, peppers, squash, and pumpkins as well as cut flowers like zinnias, black-eyed Susans, cone flowers, and dahlias.

Feed & Seed

Kingbird Pastures partners with Feed & Seed, a non-profit food hub serving local farmers and families in South Carolina. Thanks to Feed & Seed, customers who live closer to downtown Greenville have a convenient location to pick up Kingbird Pastures meat.

Certified SC

The Certified SC brand and label help consumers easily identify goods that are grown and harvested or raised right here in the Palmetto State. Buying local not only means people are taking home fresher, tastier foods, it also means they are supporting our state’s farmers.

Upstate Forever

Upstate Forever works with landowners, funders, and partners to facilitate permanent conservation easements on forests, farms, and green space in Upstate South Carolina.

The land at Kingbird Pastures has been under conservation easement with Upstate Forever since 2007.

Carolina Bee Co.

Kingbird Pastures is proud to offer The Carolina Honey Bee Company land usage for dozens of bee hives without the fear of pesticides and herbicides. Our farm offers the bees a symbiotic relationship due to the density volume of gardens, grasses, plants, and trees on our land.

National Wildlife Federation

The long, patient work of regenerative agriculture on our land over the years has resulted in a thriving habitat for native flora and fauna. From an abundance of native grasses and flowers to clean natural water sources and plenty of cover, Kingbird Pastures is a haven for Upstate wildlife, recognized by the National Wildlife Federation.

USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service

From bird boxes to stream bank remediation, partnerships with the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service has been invaluable to maintaining a healthy regenerative ecosystem.

SCDNR Bat Liaison

Thanks to our partnership with John Gillespie of Sunrift Adventures, Kingbird Pastures is home to bat boxes that provide a safe home for one of Nature’s best pest control. This has allowed Kingbird Pastures to act as a bat liaison through the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources.

Environmental, biological & Sociological Research

After years of regenerative farming practices, Kingbird Pastures is now a prime location for environmental research. Furman University’s Dr. John Quinn brings students to our farm to get hands-on experience studying biology, carbon sequestration, and bird diversity.

We’ve also contributed to Furman’s Dr. Ken Kolb’s research on food deserts and retail inequality in Southeastern communities.
